Crime Wave

This was a commission done for a customer of a beloved stallion that passed about 10 years ago. After viewing many photos that spanned this horse’s life, I painted a small study and incorporated a background reminiscent of Charlie Russell. My client loves western paintings and especially Charlie Russell’s. From that small study we spoke back and forth about what he liked and the things he’d like adjusted. From there I went on to paint this 16” x 20” oil painting. It was great working with “J” from start to finish and we even went together to choose a frame. Having a love of horses myself, this commission was immensely satisfying!
