Morning in Mesa

I was commissioned to do a large oil painting for a couple who'd lived in Mesa, Arizona. This was the view from their backyard and they were sad to sell their place. Now their memories are kept fresh as they have hung this in one of their main living areas. This small but statuesque red rock was aptly named Red Mountain. 

This small watercolour was preparation to paint large for them. They were delighted with their final painting and I was left with this little gem. The desert is so alive and full of colour. The saguaros stand as sentinels unchanging for decades blooming in due season and providing shelter for the birds.

Approximately 12" x 16" framed, this watercolour is varnished and does not require glass.
