Anticipation

ANTICIPATION is complete! I put the final touches on her this morning and I think she turned out better than I anticipated pardon the pun. Anticipation seemed an appropriate title as we are closing 2025 and looking ahead to a New Year.

We don’t know what a year will bring but I’m thankful to be able to trust the triune Lord God who knows all and walks with us through everything.

This painting is based on a photo I took a couple of years ago at a patio restaurant during golden hour. This woman was seated at a table on the edge of the patio appearing to enjoy and anticipate the setting sun over the valley. I never did see her face because I was visiting with friends and enjoying our meal.

I’m so pleased to have found time to paint again since Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed every brushstroke. Painting is like balm to my soul…
