Spring Thaw

This is a Saskatchewan prairie scene painted in the early spring before the snow completely melted. It was cool enough to need a jacket, but the sun's rays were stretching longer every day. This little bubbling creek still had a small amount of ice on it. The grasses were still golden from autumn. I have lived this scene so many years and have great memories as a kid of going in the melting waters with my rubber boots on.
